Digital only cartridge will give a monolopy to Provo Craft for their cartridges. No longer will i be able to purchase the cartridge at a sale price at Michaels, JoAnn’s, Ebay or other. You would force me to purchase the carts from only you at what ever price you demand. I’m not happy with this decision PC made. I can’t afford high price carts and won’t buy them.

I hope PC doesnt go digital only. I like my boxes. I also use my gypsy like crazy. How would I load the digital carts to my gypsy?

You won’t. I just ound out that I can’t download them onto my Cricut Exp.2. I was told when I purchased it that I would be able to load cartridges but now they say no. I boiught 2 digital, but am sorry I did as I couldn’t log on to Craftroom so I couldn’t make anything with my new digital carts. I asked for a refund for them but PC won’t give you your money back..it’s not their “Policy” Don’t buy digital.

l agree with grannynannycdm not a very good idea especially if you are not computer savvy.

will I be able to use digital products with my Design Studio and/or gypsy?

I think that with the demand for the actual cartridge that eventually Provo Craft will manufacture the physcial cartridge. I will wait. I have the Gypsy and Expression so am not interested in the Craft Room.

If I am going to buy something, I want the physical item. It can’t be changed or removed from the web site. No compatability issues with new operating systems or Cricut machines. No need to hook up my computer & get to the web site. Overall, digital would be too much trouble to bother with.

I have code numbers for free Cricut Craft Room Applications. 3D Ornaments & Font and Basic Shapes. I can not see where or how I enter these numbers to receive these applications. Please advise. Thank you.

I am currently haveing trouble logging into the creaftroom. If I only had digital cartiges, I’d have a big problem.

The Cricut Craft Room is easy to manage. The Digital Cartridge will not change on you because it will be downloded onto your PC or MAC. For my first Cricut and supplies, I found it fairly easy to figure out. If you have Reward Points or codes that need to be entered or need to be redeemed to recieve your HSN Bundle or just any points for that matter, go to www cricutrewards com you have to set up another account, and yes you can use the same name and password as your Cricut account, it makes things easy. There will be two link buttons that will say something like, Enter Rewards or Redeem Rewards. I like the Cricut Craft Room.

There are lots to think about other than how great PC makes these digital carts sound. I’m someone that goes from hobby to hobby. I get tired of one thing and go to the next but eventually I pull out that thing I was doing years ago and play with it again. Here we are with PC and their internet based software and digital carts that only work with the internet software and an account. I did not ask for that nor was that evolution to internet everything told to me when I purchased my E2. My assumption was buy the cutter, Design Studio and some cartridges and off I go cutting. Not! DS does not work with the E2 cutter. So here we are with Craft Room that full of bugs that are slowly being worked out and these (OPTIONAL?) digital cartridges. Not optional as the above Fonts cartridge explains.
So say I buy into these things today. In five years I pull out the Cricut from the closet and want to start cutting. Now the problems start.

1,2) Is PC still in business? Maybe not with the direction they are going. If so, do I still have an account and can I remember the passwords?
    3) What new software will I need to get access to my purchased digital cartridges?
    4) Will the new software still work with the E2 machine I have today?

You can bet that eventually CCR will no longer be FREE once the bugs are worked out, nor will your account to use and purchase digital cartridges. Someone must maintain your account.
You can see today how much has changed is past five years and where the support is for your older machines and software today. Your physical cartridges are still good and work with Design Studio yet PC will no longer be supporting DS.
I’ve been told by someone in Australia that these digital cartridges are only available to US and Canada (for now) and PC will not be going all Digital for their cartridges because of this reason. I say that as fast as they are moving on this Internet project that cartridges will be a thing of the past and you will pay into a service for graphic content to cut with your Cricut. In fact I’ll even go out on a limb and say the Cricut E3 won’t even support a plug in cartridge and will have a wireless adapter and a Cat-5 connector built right in for Digital Cartridge support only. Don’t worry, it’s a good thing!
